The whole island is divided into nineteen (19) municipalities with population that ranges from under 1,000 to over 40,000. Each village has its own elected mayor just like other cities in the United States. These mayors are responsible to the residents of the village as well as to the governor. It is not the largest village either by area or by population but it is considered as the largest economic hub of Guam, plus the fact that it is the political and cultural center of the said island. Meanwhile, Tamuning village is one of the largest villages in Guam. It is where most businesses take place. Having the Antonio B. Won Pat international Airport really places big role for making this village the most commerce village in the island.
